INTRODUCTION: The most popular wireless earbuds currently are the Airpods 2, manufactured by the tech giant Apple. They were introduced on March 20, 2019 and released on March 26, 2019. Their dimensions are 0.65 x 0.71 x 1.59 inches and are completely white in color. They work using Bluetooth technology by connecting to one’s phone. The current price of Airpods 2 is $159 without the wireless charging case or $199 with it. It has the new H1 chip which enhanced components which make audio better. The purpose of this description is to educate people about its features and true value. …
Journal #8 Formulating an Engineering Proposal
Professor Otte asked us to make a proposal of an engineering innovation that would benefit NYC. After some thinking, the events surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic came in mind. It completely exposed the faults of our healthcare system’s preparation in times of crisis. One of the main issues was the ventilator shortage. It was so bad that manufacturer’s could not keep up with the demand. Alongside that, ventilators are extremely costly. NYU Langone Health advised emergency room physicians to “think more critically” about which patients get ventilators, though New York state guidelines advise against physicians making such life-or-death decisions for their own patients. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio told that as …
Journal #7 Lab Report
The Covid-19 pandemic has completely changed our daily live and routines by isolating us from the rest of society, having devastating impact on mental and physical health. For my research, I used a survey to ask my fellow students and related adults about changes in their daily routines such as sleep schedule, eating habits, exercise, health and overall emotional feelings. The results have shown drastic changes which indicate anxiety or preliminary stages of depression. It is more than likely that it is caused by isolation and boredom and the increasing burden of financial issues. The goal of my study is …
Journal #6: Memo
I am currently working on the memo. The purpose of this memo is to discuss fare evasion by people in NYC transit system which is devastating for it. It loses a significant amount of revenue due to it. The memo will also introduce possible prevention methods. The MTA continually increases the amount of money that a traveler must pay in order to use public transportation, which ultimately leads to more people evading the fare. This memo will also demonstrate ways in which the state of New York can ultimately prevent the evasion of fare without spending insanely large amounts of …
Journal #5 Airpods
The purpose of this description is to educate people about its features and true value. Today, Apple products seem to be the status symbol, especially among the youth. They tend to buy any new products as soon as they are released. That added with wireless earbuds that play music make a great combination. They spend a lot of money on such products, without even doing enough research on them or look at other companies who make better ones. The one thing that consumers and tech-enthusiasts should know is whether they are worth the money or not.
Journal #4: Analysis of an Article
Today I analyzed a speech made by one of the most influential people in history, Carlie Chaplin. It is perhaps one of the most well know speeches made in the world from the entertainment industry. At this very moment, World War 2 is ravaging Europe, with the Nazis and the Soviet Union clashing. These two nations were perhaps the most dangerous to world peace with both being under the rule of vicious dictators. These two people have slaughtered millions of people. Chaplin is speaking to millions of TV watchers around the world with this film. Not only that, he is …
Journal #3 Ethical Principals for Modern Times
I believe that telling the truth is the most important principle. Not only does my credibility as an engineer depend on the truth, the lives of the consumers of my products do as well. Society depends on us to make their lives easier by building various machineries and we depend on them for their financial support. It is a form of trust created throughout generations. Companies may force employees to lie about their products to increase sales because they only care about the money. It is the workers who make the products have to live with the guilt of making products …
Journal #2 Engineering Article
I found an engineering article today pertaining to Elon Musk’s Boring Company. Mush has to be one of the most well- known people in engineering and in the world. It would seem that every time he surprises the world with one innovation, he always has another coming after it. This article talks about a project that his company, named The Boring Company, started in 2019. The tunnel is nearing its completion and is expected to be opened in the next few months. It has been confirmed by the man himself on Twitter. Tunnels would make the city move more smoothly and safely. …
Journal #1 Most Important Skill in the Workforce
We learned and wrote about some important skills necessary in the work force. Without them, society will not function smoothly and many unwanted problems will arise. All skills that are listed are necessary in the workplace and in life. However, I believe that the ability to solve problems is the most important. It is due to the fact that in the world of engineering the main goal is to find a solution to major issues. Whether it be machines, buildings or climate, each one will have problems which humanity has to overcome through innovation. When it comes to machines, we …
